I bought a Mazda Soundboard off of Ebay for £55.

When I fitted it it came to light one of the speakers was faulty making a soft "tinny" sound.

So I went about upgrading them with Pioneer TS-G1021I speakers that were on offer at Argos for £14.99.

Here are the speakers side by side.

The problem was the mounting holes on the speakers were not the same.

This is a picture of the speakers on top of each other.

I had to elongate the holes on the Pioneer speakers right down to the speaker rim.

I did this using a round needle file.

Once done they fitted perfectly.

I had to use M4 12mm bolts, spring washers and nuts to secure the speakers.

I ran wires from my head unit under the centre console and under the carpet to the soundboard.

I contacted the Ebay seller about the faulty speaker and he refunded me the full cost of doing the upgrade.

What a star!

The result was this.
